What is Peer Counseling?

The Peer Counseling Component strives to support students through 1-on-1 counseling sessions where students can set goals, reflect on their growth, and have a supportive space to resolve academic or personal concerns. Through 1 hour sessions, our 11 trained peer counselors are available to assist with class planning, extracurricular exploration, and connection to campus resources.

In addition to helping students adjust to the UCLA community environment and changing current events, students will not only be equipped with the tools for success in academic and professional pursuits, but students will also be challenged to think about their social responsibilities to make a positive impact on their communities. The component will maintain its focus on incoming, high-risk, continuing, and Academic Action/Dismissed students to ensure that they receive the support they need to succeed at UCLA.
